About us

SMILE is a Calgary multi-disciplinary clinic that offers pediatric physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, massage and other services. We have a variety of different models through which we can serve children, including through therapy intensives and FSCD contracts. 

SMILE is where kids accomplish big goals.

The SMILE Calgary clinic is owned and ran by special-needs parents that 'get it'. We understand what parents like us are seeking and are here to ensure that SMILE is where they find it. 

LEMONS 2 LEMONADE

This is a pandemic success story. When the pandemic restricted travel, SMILE Calgary was formed to allow western Canadian families to continue to access pediatric physiotherapy and other services like those delivered at our Ontario clinics, despite restrictions. 

KNOWLEDGE IMPORT

Because Alberta lacks pediatric therapists trained in SMILE's unique, and might we say, effective,  techniques (i.e. cage, compression suits, vibration, DMI, etc.) we had all our staff trained by our Ontario peers. Because there's no better way than directly from the souce.

SUPPORTING LOCAL

To help support our local Alberta businesses, SMILE has gone the extra step to procure as many Alberta-based services and products as possible, from seamstress services to having custom equipment built by local handypeople.

Facilities

A family-centric space to ensure that kids and parents will look forward to returning again and again. 

KITCHEN & LOUNGE

Parents and kids need a comfortable space to rest & eat in between sessions. Our Forest Lounge is it! Available on site are: microwave, fridge, sink, water, coffee/tea, snacks.

SENSORY ROOM

A magical space to restabilize your child's sensory system with numerous visual, auditory and tactile stimulation inputs. 

3 THERAPY ROOMS

We realize that therapy is hard, and being distracted or intimidated by your surroundings and/or other participants can make it even harder. This is why we have 3 private therapy rooms ready for therapists' use for when the need arises.

2 THERAPY GYMS

Such large pieces of equipment as swings, crawling tracks, jungle gyms, wall ladders, stairs, and others require large spaces. Our therapy gyms are where we go to get wild! At SMILE your child will never be restricted to just a mat or a table. 

ROOM TO SPREAD

Our open reception area and wide doorways allow for lots of room for families to bring their strollers, wheelchairs, and whatever other mobility devices they please. 

CHANGING & NURSING ROOM

Changing kiddos in public bathrooms is gross! This is why we have a designated clean and quiet room for you to take care of your child's dirty business with also a comfy chair for our nursing mamas.

FUN KID THEMES

Your kids are going to love our clinic space. Each room is based on a different theme, from beach to jungle. Perhaps, if your child is lucky, they'll even get to pick which fantasy land they'll get to visit today.
