Alex grew up just outside of Calgary in the hamlet of Bragg Creek. Alex graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in and holds a Bachelor of Health Science Degree from Mount Royal University. Prior to moving to Kingston, Alex spent time working and volunteering with programs and individuals with developmental delays, disabilities, and neurological injuries, and found an enthusiasm for empowering others. She has long been passionate about working with children, enjoying working at summer camps, volunteering with children’s’ recreational sports teams, and having endless fun with her cousins’ young kids. During her schooling in Ontario, Alex had the opportunity to explore pediatric physiotherapy through a placement with a pediatric rehabilitation organization and knew it was what she wanted to pursue. Alex is eager to continue learning as much as possible, and to help children and families set and reach their goals, while having some fun along the way! During the summer of 2022, Alex completed her Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) training with Jo-Anne Weltman and is looking forward to continuing building her DMI expertise on an ongoing basis. Outside of work and school, Alex loves running, cooking, all things outdoors and being in the mountains year-round, and spending time with her family, dog, and friends!
